Many Doctors, One Wound

In a city as large as Delhi, it is common for a person with diabetes to see a diabetes doctor in one part of the city, a surgeon or vascular specialist in another, and a family doctor close to home. Each sees the wound only at their own visit. The nurse sees it far more often, and the visit notes can help every doctor see the same picture of how it is changing. The nurse does not replace any of them.

Get medical help urgently if you see: fever or chills, redness or swelling spreading up the foot or leg, pus or a foul smell, black or dead-looking skin, new severe pain, or blood sugar that is climbing out of control. Do not wait for the next visit.

Signs a Wound Is Not Healing as It Should

  • The wound is the same size or bigger after two weeks of regular care.
  • The edges look dry, grey or thickened instead of pink.
  • There is more drainage than before, or it changes colour.
  • The skin around the wound is redder, warmer or swollen.
  • Pain returns in a foot that was numb, or a new wound appears.

If you notice any of these, tell the nurse and your doctor. Slow healing can point to poor blood flow or a hidden infection, which need a doctor's assessment. Our note on wound debridement explains one treatment a doctor may suggest.

Questions Worth Asking Your Doctor

  • Is the blood flow to my foot good enough for the wound to heal?
  • Should I keep weight off the foot, and for how long?
  • What kind of footwear should I wear now, and later?
  • What blood sugar range should I aim for while this heals?
  • Which signs mean I should come in straight away?

Protect the Other Foot

When one foot has a wound, the other foot often takes extra weight and can develop its own problem. Check it every day as well, wear proper footwear, and mention any changes at the next visit. Booking and Costs

Call or WhatsApp us with a short description of the wound, where it is on the foot or leg, and your area in Delhi. A photo helps. A nurse reviews the details and plans the first visit. We do not quote a fixed rate without knowing the wound, because the number of visits and the supplies needed differ for each patient. Share the details and the team will explain the plan before you commit to it.
